Starting today, Lyon is hosting the Quais du Polar festival, celebrating crime fiction. Last year’s visitors’ numbers were 45 000 and this year, I am delighted to say, I will be amongst them. You can see the full programme here (in French) and my summary of the event here. But for now, I am looking forward to spending Easter with my family and with thousands of crime fiction fanatics like myself in one of the loveliest (and gastronomically most renowned) cities in France. Life doesn’t get much better than this.
Happy Easter and Happy Passover for all who are celebrating this now.
Have a great time!! I’m looking forward to the science fiction/fantasy festival we are having here the last weekend of May.
It is so nice, isn’t it, to spend some time with like-minded people and get to see all your favourite authors!
Very much so! I met some great people last year who I have kept in touch with and am looking forward to seeing again.
Oh, I hope you have a wonderful trip, Marina Sofia! Enjoy your travels and I hope you’ll post ‘photos!
I will wax lyrical about it some time next week, no doubt!
Yay! Have fun!
Lucky you! Literature in a great city with good food. Enjoy!
What’s not to like? Hope the family does too.
Have a great trip, Marina Sofia. Hope you have a wonderful time and find some crime gems along the way.
Thank you – I will be sure to report any gems, hidden or otherwise.
Sounds wonderful. I was in France two weeks ago and always enjoy it. Food and words…what more could you want!
And wine, needless to say…
Lucky you!
Oh, cracking. I love Lyon. It’s my second favourite French city- after Toulouse. Have a good un!
How great! Lyon Crime festival is very high on my agenda of festivals-I-should-visit-one-day. I hope you have a great visit, and as for food, Lyon is quite the right place to be (if you’re not vegetarian). If you ever make it to Paris on a next visit, make sure to let me know!
