The cold may have descended over our part of France. But with all the beautiful autumnal colours to inspire you, what better place to spend your day than in your very own garden shed, far away from the hubble-bubble of life in the main house? (No, I don’t have one. Yes, I would like one. With heating, preferably.)

Wow, that last shed is better than my entire house! And not a spider in sight. I really need to up my game in the garden shed department.
Nor any rusty lawnmowers or expired weedkillers, I bet…
I’d love to see what the Californian house looks like if that’s the shed! I’ll take the more modest Danish one please. I’m sure the heating will work just fine.
I suspect the Californian one may be draughty and unheated… (sour grapes, mumble, mumble)
The Danish one is beautiful, though the weather surrounding the Californian one would make up for other defects….
I’m leaning towards the Danish one too. I could imagine leaving all of the things I out to do in the house behind and retreating there.
What a lovely idea, Marina Sofia! I’d love to have my own personal little retreat like that. I think the Serge Shoemaker would be just right for me.
I’m tempted by that one too – but with a more comfortable chair. Although big window = distraction, doesn’t it?
I’m getting the idea that these “sheds” are being used for something other than storing tools and potting soil.
Sharpening the tools of the mind, Guy!
I want The Hyggelig!! I could dream there so well.
It is very dreamy, isnt it, really snug too…
Oooh, I want the pod! Not because it’s ecological – because it looks just like a burrow in Hobbiton!
I was just thinking of that myself – hopefully not quite as small and low ceilinged.
Yes please! I need a bigger place for the shed though, my little urban yard won’t do!
Sending to my friend in Australia 🙂
I would take any one of them. With twins, space is hard to find in my house so any of these look wonderfully restful and Lego-free…
Exactly – that’s why I keep dreaming of sheds at a safe (shout-proof) distance from the house. Also a bonus, as you say: the lack of clutter and villainous Lego attacks.
Great choice of photos (as always). Can I just throw in my own dream image – and one with literary heritage – Roadl Dahl did his writing in a shed too! http://www.newyorker.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Roald-Dahl-hut-thumb-400×266-104604.jpg
Great choice! I actually know that one. In the UK I live not that far from Great Missenden, where Roald Dahl and his family lived, and we’ve been there a couple of times, visiting his house, museum and hut. I think every writer needs a shed (at least in their imagination).
I like the cute one but I like winter gardens better.
