Nothing beats a cosy chalet at the foot of the ski pistes, with an open fireplace, good food, old friends and excellent books to surround you! The snow is not quite enough for skiing yet, the chalet remains to be booked (or paid for) but I do feel I have friends and books, so thank you all so much.

I have the feeling I might be a little lonely on the slopes, as all of you seem keen to share the seats by the fireplace and the views, but not the actual exercise…
Chalet Solaise, please. I’m a little worried about those white furry things in the Courchevel chalet. They look as if they might get up and move around in the night!
Lovely. Like many others have said, I’ll happily peek out the window and watch others ski, and then return to the fire with a cup of coffee and a few books.
It does sound like I’ll be the only one doing any skiing, doesn’t it? All the better… you can all have dinner and a nice mug of mulled wine waiting for me when I come back in.
Oh dear, an almost impossible choice this week! They all look gorgeous. But I’m going to go for the one with the white furry beanbags – I feel that’s what my life is missing…
I’d happily keep the home fires burning & mulled wine simmering in any of these whole others ski …I’d especially love the one with the polar bear pouffes…. just larger versions of my Westies😆
Lovely! I want to stay in all of these 🙂
So do I! And ski in each of those resorts, too.
I could manage as long as I stayed in front of the fire…
OK, I’ll make you the Official Keeper of the Wet Socks and Gloves by the Fireplace then…
Just keep the hot coffee coming…
I’m not a big fan of skiing, but some of the views look spectacular!

They do look a bit like fluffy dogs, don’t they? I hadn’t thought of that, Susan, sharp-eyed as always!
I’m not one for skiing (I’d break bits of me) but there’s a few of those me and my books could hang out in for a while.
It’s the apres-ski that makes all the difference, you know…
Gosh! Each one of those is quite beautiful! But I do love the mid-century modernist look of the first one! 🙂
Chalets can be a little too woody and kitschy, can’t they, but some of these are quite wonderful.

I think all our lives are missing white furry somethings to cuddle up with… oh, dear, that came out wrong, but you know what I mean…
Oh, they’re all so beautiful, Marina Sofia! Just perfect for a winter holiday. My choice is the Decoist one, but they’re all fantastic.

I want them ALL!
Beautiful…I love the snow…to look at (!) 😉
Wish I could just pack up and go! But I would ski all day – hopefully in the sun. Then relax with food and books. Lovely
Above the clouds, on the mountain tops, it very often is sunny… Finally, someone who would come skiing with me!
