Friday Fun: Let in the Light!

One of the downsides of winter above the 45th latitude North is that it gets dark so quickly! Plus all the fog and cloud which render the sun invisible for days on end. So here are some houses designed to let in as much light as possible.

  1. They’re all gorgeous but I think 1 and 3 appeal most – I’m getting so fed up of going off to work in the dark…

    1. We’ve had about 2 weeks of fog, with only a day or two of visibility, so am feeling the same way. Mind you, I’m sure if we were to go up the mountain, above the cloud cover, it might be a different story…

  2. I hate the fact that there is so little light at this time of year. It’s why we make such a big thing of Solstice in our house. Even though at first there may be only a minute extra each day from Monday onwards every one of those minutes is precious and is celebrated as such.

  3. Ooh gorgeous! I’d live in any of them. I wish I could overlook the sea or a river, though these days that usually means tangling with floodwaters. Perhaps inhabiting them in imagination is the best of all worlds? Roll on the spring.

  4. I don’t know if it’s the Northern blood, but I actually like the dark winter months – closing the curtains and lighting the lamps and the (pretend) flickering of the fire. In fact, I’m miserable at the moment because it’s too warm! So I’m not overly tempted this week, though the one with the amazing view is pretty amazing!
