    1. Surprisingly, in my first own house (a small two-up-two-down) there was an alcove on one side of the narrow staircase which I filled with Ikea shelves and books. Not quite as elegant a solution as in the picture above, but it made me happy!

  1. Those are *all* gorgeous and I love the reading chair (I so need one). But the stairs are particularly magnificent!

  2. We have friends who have a gallery library sufficiently like the one in the bottom picture that I did a double-take. On the other hand, their shelves are a heck of a sight fuller than the ones in the photo and they don’t have the further bookcases directly beneath.

    I want Cara Brookins’s library.

  4. These are very nice. My own has a very comfortable chair and just two book cases. I’ve other books in the rest of the house. When I retire, I love to get place with all of the books in one room.
