More higgledy-piggledy pictures of the beautiful area I have had the pleasure of calling home for the last five years…
‘Beware of dogs’ says the sign – but all I can see are porcelain cowsA reading nook I’ve often dreamt about…Another charming farm conversion…Hours of chromatic and olfactory delight in the Botanical Gardens.Voltaire’s chateau grounds overrun with people and colour and music – just the way he would have liked it.The Swiss flag flying in the oddest of places. And, above us all, the Mont Blanc floating in its haze like a ghostly apparition.
Yeah, but all that fresh air, great lifestyle and gorgeous scenery is over-rated! Think of all the inspiration for murder you’ll get on the Tube in rush hour, and what better reading nook than huddling in a train station waiting room, listening to the announcements of why the train won’t be arriving any time soon. Plus, rain is apparently good for your hair… 😉
We should organise a book blogger meeting in Ferney-Voltaire. Isn’t that the right place to gather book lovers?
I remember seeing a sign “Attention chien méchant et perspicace” somewhere in Ferney.
Looks delightful.
Love the reading nook 😊
I’ve seen it lit up at night and there really are bookshelves there… Had to swerve to avoid an accident though!
These are gorgeous, Marina. I’m not sure what we can offer in compensation here in the UK!
I’ll find some Thames Valley views when I come back to remind us of the green and pleasant land…
Those are lovely images, Marina – I can understand why you’ll miss the place…
Ah, yes, sigh… another place I will carry forever in my heart!
Wow. I want to visit.
What Robert said! Really beautiful pics!
What a lovely place, Marina Sofia! Those Botanical Gardens look absolutely heavenly. And the one of Mont Blanc is stunning.

So beautiful. Reminds me of my time in the Jura.

I would happily organise something like that, perhaps after the chateau has been renovated…
Beautiful – you’ll miss it! but there is some beautiful countryside in the UK too and the Thames Valley has its fair share.
What a beautiful place to be. It must be hard to leave.
It won’t be easy, but I usually find something beautiful about every place I live in…
Gorgeous pics Marina 🙂
