Quick Reviews on Video: October 2017

I am so busy with my two new jobs that I haven’t had time to write any reviews, so I have taken what is laughingly known as the ‘easy way out’ by filming myself talking about some books I have recently read and ones I am currently reading. 5 crime novels, one Israeli apartment block in Tel Aviv, an Argentinian in France and a sweeping Hungarian family saga. Pretty much par for the course…

[I should stop apologising for my awkwardness while filming – static camera and a very movable person do not mix well.]

  1. I really like this video reviews, Marina Sofia. It’s interesting to hear how different The Man Who Died is to his other work. I’m going to have to look that one up, I think. And I can’t wait to read the new Dolan – how lucky you are to have been able to get your hands on it.

  2. Love listening to you chatting about books, makes a lovely change from reading reviews – you’re a natural! I’m adding The Man Who Died to my wishlist – sounds so intriguing πŸ™‚

  3. How lovely to see you in a video. I have harboured thoughts of doing a book video but I am too scared. Neither am I that good at speaking my thoughts out compared to writing them down. We look forward to more reviews from you. I should say getting busy with new jobs has been a blessing in disguise. You are a natural and completely at ease in front of the camera. Keep it up, Marina.

    1. Thank you, that is very kind of you to say so! I do a lot of webinars and face to face training, so I suppose that shows… But I do hate looking at my own face!
