Why, I do believe it’s been quite a while since I posted any pictures of castles and manor houses… High time I remedied that. On this occasion, it’s all chateaux from my region, Rhone Alpes. Just to show you what you can move into, should you choose to become my neighbour! Something for all tastes, from medieval to 19th century, from modest proportions to royal.

Don’t forget to invite me over for a cup of tea when you do move in…
Lovely photographs! There are so many chateaux in our area too, South Burgundy, not far from your area since you mention Rhône-Alpes as your region. We live not far from CLUNY. The peace and quiet of the countryside is perfect for walks… and translation. 🙂
I’ve been meaning to visit your area for ages now. I always seem to just pass through on the way to Paris and catch a tantalising glimpse of a vineyard or castle…
I do enjoy these pieces, Marina. Beautiful pictures. I quite fancy Chateau de Prevessin…
That really is next-door to me, Jacqui. We could drop in on each other and discuss books and wines!
How lovely! I’ll pack a bag…
Where is the Château de Prévessin?
These posts are fast becoming my Friday morning treat! First dibs on Chateau de Grilly for me, please.
That is just a stone’s throw away from here – and comes, I believe, complete with stables and other outhouses.
Please find below the webpage of the Chateau de Grilly

Thank you for the link, it looks wonderful, so many lovely new pictures. Brings back lots of happy memories!
Marina Sofia good evening.
You posted the photo of the wrong “Chateau de Grilly” in your blog.
Feel free to take one from the official website

Feel free to contact me if you wish.
ciao
I’ll take one of each please! 😀
I must contact my house agent! I hope that you live very close to the Chateau de la Teyssonniere,, because if so, we’ll be having coffee together soon. 🙂
Only about an hour’s drive away – and you’ll be pleased to hear that it’s got the most amazing gardens…
I can see myself in Chateau de Grilly, not too ostentatious but room for a curved library perhaps?
What a great idea! Bookshelves all the way round the tower…
I think I will go for the nameless one with the great big swimming pool. I am sure it is in my price range …..
So that leaves Chateau Herbey for me, I daresay. Will have to make do with that – sigh! I’m nothing if not accommodating.
The last one for me, please. Not just gorgeous, but since the name’s unknown it should be beautifully private…
Good choice! We stars have to stay out of the limelight, don’t we? Such a burden, this fame thing…
Where is the Château de Prévessin?
Not far from Geneva airport – but on the French side.
I did not realise that was Rhône-Alpes. Actually, it’s quite some distance from the CLUNY area, a good 2 and half hours, I’d say. Let me know if you go through this area
heh-heh…I’m moving soon…*sigh* I can dream 😉 x
Oh do Polly! Just think of the writing/poetry sessions we could have… I’ll bring the wine!
I really do love this feature. Can we kick that watch factory out of Chateau de Prevessin? Just gorgeous.
Stunning! Yet my heart belongs here in the Aude near the Mediterranean and the people I love. Our Cathar castles are amazing!
